"Do you guys ever get scared of bumping into your ex's girlfriends or your boyfriend's exes?"
"Uhh, no?"

I asked the girls that fateful question on wednesday night while we perched ourselves on the sinks at the dbl O toilet. We were neither drunk nor were we in the mood to dance so we decided to just smoke in the toilet (by the way, one should really applaud Serene. She's the only person I know who can get away with smoking in a taxi without the taxi driver knowing.)

So we finished the evening off at Phunk Bar. However, my sister (ever the clubbing queen), decided she hadn't had enough, and decided to drag me along to Devils Bar. She snookered in two Brri'ish guys who paid for the cab fare and off we went. And all the while I was feeling quite depressed already because I wanted to go home, my back was stiff and all my friends had already left. Bah.

And then it happened. I saw her. Actually I saw her eye but I could recognise it all the same. It was his ex - the one directly preceding me. So yes, I was stunned (scared more like - I mean, how do you react in situations like these?). I didn't do anything. I just continued dancing while trying to calm down and wondering whether to run for the exit or to say hi. On the way back, I happened to pass by so I said bye and that was it.

We're polar opposites of each other. She loves to cook and I um, love to party. She's quiet and soft and I'm loud, rowdy and piss Alfiean off alot with my lack of manners. She's a filial daughter and I lie that I'm sleeping over at Serene's when I'm actually at his place (truth be told, I've never once been to Serene's house either).

But underneath the surface, we have something in common. We both love the same man with the same selflessness (though I daresay she's more selfless than I am because she gave him up so I could have him).

And she's probably reading this, so hi you! -waves. So while I acknowledge the fact we probably wont be girly girlfriends gossipping over a cuppa anytime soon, I do hope there isn't any animosity between us. :)

So. All that's left is for me to finally meet browneyedboy's girlfriend. I always have people tell me they saw him and her together (especially at TM) but I never actually meet them, so Safiah, if you're reading this, it's your turn next, hor.
